Over the last few months, with having a young puppy in the house I have got myself into quite a bad habit of picking food that I can eat quickly without having to spend a lot of time on preparation (outside of tea time that is). This means that I have been having quite a few snack bars and packets of crisps between my meals and even for breakfast.
These foods are not the best as they are usually packed with sugars, fats and salts. All the things that I should try not to eat too much of. I think that this could be part of the reason that I have put on a few pounds over the last few months and it is probably having an impact on my nutrition that I can’t see.
This week I decided that I was going to work on improving this going forward. I decided that a good start to this would be to replace these foods with fruits. although I know that fruit still contains a lot of sugar they are much lower in calories and they are packed with lots of vitamins and minerals which should start to have a more positive impact on my health.
my plan is to keep on trying to improve my diet and reduce my snacking on unhealthy things with the hope that by early next year I will be in a much better place with my diet. The last couple of years have been really difficult for me and that has had a massive impact on my health (I have not been eating well and I have gained a lot of weight) I plan to fix this next year and get myself into a good place with my health.
