Yesterday was not a great day for me, I had to be in the office which meant that I came home for a long lunch with the dog. This usually isn’t too bad as even though I left a bit away from the office it only takes me about 25 minutes to cycle.
However, today I got about two thirds of the way home and and was wondering why I was finding it so difficult to cycle. I looked at my tire and realised that it was as flat as a pancake. I managed to make it the rest of the way home ok and give the dog a walk, some food and some snuggles.
Once I was home however it left me with the issue of getting back to work. Although we do actually have a spare bike it is in such a bad state that it would have been hazardous to ride. This meant that the only options left to me (as someone who can’t drive) were to walk back to work or get the bus.
The only bus that comes through the village that I live in only arrives every half an hour and is not direct. This means that even though the I live about 5 miles away from the office it usually ends up taking about the same amount of time to walk or catch the bus. I decided that it would be better for my health and for my stress to walk. The positive of this is that I got lots of walking done today but the negative is that by the end of the day I was feeling rather tired.
