Goodbye New Years Resolutioners

For the first couple of weeks of the year I when I came back from my lunchtime run all of the showers at work were full. This meant that I had to wait for one to be available, this was usually a couple of minutes at most so it wasn’t really a big deal.

I have noticed however that over the last week and a bit this has been steadily dropping to the level where now there is always at least one shower free, usually a lot more than one. I have also noticed on my run that there seems to be less people around running.

The only thing that I can think is that there were a lot of people after Christmas that  took up exercise as part of a New Years resolution who have now given up on being healthy. I know that this is something that happens every year but I would have hoped that it would have taken a bit longer. We haven’t even reached the end of the first month in the year yet.

Although it does make it easier for me to have less people exercising and getting showers at work I am a bit sad to see less people looking after their health. There is nothing that I can do about this though, the only thing that I can do is continue to work out and trying to eat better.

I have already run 10.5km so far this week so I am off to a good start.
